Täydellinen päivä.

The big day is behind us and we are happily married for almost 4 days. Despite of the stormy weather forecasts and us both being ill, the day was perfect. I think the most important factor was that we decided we are going to enjoy it no matter what, and so it was the best party ever! At least for us. But also our guests seemed to have enjoyed the party a lot. :)

The most amazing thing in the whole wedding was the fact that so many people from all around Europe and even from US wanted to be there for us and celebrate our marriage. I still cannot believe it and thinking about it makes me cry of gratitude and joy. :') I am a big cry baby sometimes, but I don't like crying in public, so in the wedding I actually did not. But there was few moments where it was very difficult to keep my calm. The first moment was when me and my dad walked down the stairs and I saw all of my loved ones gathered there waiting for us. The second time was during the ceremony when we said our "vows" to each other and the third when my dad performed one of my favourite songs. At the wedding party the most touching moments were obviously my dad's speech and our first dance. I cannot believe how well both my dad and the singer of the band, who does not speak German, were entertaining the German guests. Amazing! It gives me some pressure to go ahead and try it too. :D

All in all, I enjoyed wedding planning a lot, and I would easily do it all over again. I did not have much stress and the stress I did have was maybe that healthy kind that everyone should face sometimes. Maybe I will become a party planner, hehe. :D There is not much in our wedding I would change, thanks to the people we hired and our friends who helped us just from pure awesomeness, the whole day went very smoothly. The one and only thing I would change would be to have a microphone in our ceremony, but that is pretty small detail, isn't it? ;) (As a tip for future brides and grooms I would also recommend leaving some air to the planning schedule for surprises, like a week long flu ;)) The dress and my hair were gorgeous, the groom was perfect, guests were awesome, cake, flowers and the band were amazing, food was delicious, drinks were enough and as much as we've seen so far the photographer is truly talented.

Sust on tullu häähullu.

Ihan ensiks huippu-uutisia; pääsin nimittäin inssin läpi ja kunhan uunituore ajokorttini saapuu (täällä pitää odottaa 2 viikkoa...) pääsen vihdoin kruisailemaan! Ajokortti ei koskaan ole ollut mulle mitenkään tärkeä meriitti mitä nyt olis muutamassa muutossa auttanut, mutta voin sanoa että oli niin perkuleen kovan työn takana, että kyllä nyt saa olla pikkusen ylpeä. En myöskään millään tavalla kannata päämäärätöntä kruisailua, mutta kai sitä kerran saa...

Toiseksi ajattelin, että näin viikkoa ennen häitä voisi olla paikallaan päivittää mitä kaikkea tässä on tehty ja ehkä sitten muutaman viikon päästä näette lopputuloksenkin kunhan saadaan kuvat valokuvaajalta. Meidän teemanahan on siis edelleen pastellivärit ja erityisesti mintunvihreä. Tämä päätettiin hyvissä ajoin enkä vielä ole tullut katumapäälle (ilmeisesti sulhanenkin on samaa mieltä). Hääseremonia pidetään konsulaatin puutarhassa ja itse juhliminen parin korttelin päässä sijaitsevassa hotellissa. Bändi, hääpuku, valokuvaaja ym. isot jutut tuli hoidettua niin hyvissä ajoin, että koko talvena ei tarvinnut paljoa häistä stressata.

Tykkään askarrella itse kaikenlaista vaikkei sitä usein tulekaan tehtyä, ja niimpä ehdin hommata itselleni aimo listan tekemistä. Muun muassa pompomeja, saippuakuplahommeleita, menuja, paikkakortteja, ohjelmaplakaattia, kukkapurkkeja, vieraskirjaa ja photo boothia on tässä väännetty ihan kokopäiväduunina (ja sehän sopii tähän lomalaisen / työttömän / kotiemännän uuteen aikatauluun ;)) Nyt alkaa näyttää aika hyvältä ja tarkotuksena olis että tiistai-iltaan mennessä suurinpiirtein kaikki olis valmista. Ensimmäiset vieraat saapuu keskiviikkona, ja olis mukava ottaa heidät vastaan stressittömin mielin. Harmi vaan, että keksin koko ajan uutta kivaa ja tuiki tarpeellista puuhaa. Ehkä rekrytoin mummot ja vaarit mukaan askartelemaan. ;)

Koristeiden lisäksi päätin, että toteutan meikin ja kampauksen itse kaasoni avustuksella. Tähän mennessä luotan edelleen päätökseeni ainakin meikin suhteen, mutta ensi lauantaina sitten nähdään mitä tästä tulee. Meikin on tarkotus olla luonnollinen, mutta tietysti irtoripsillä höystettynä. Kampauksenkin on tarkoitus olla sopivasti räjähtänyt ja rento, mutta piiitkillä lisäkkeillä buustattu. Jostain syystä olen erittäin huono luottamaan kampaajiin (kaasoa lukuunottamatta ;)), joten teen mieluummin itse (ja sen kyllä ainakin toisinaan huomaa...)

Odotan häitä, ja mikä tärkeintä kaikkia rakkaita ihmisiä, into pinkeänä enkä ole mielestäni kovin stressaantunut. Mutta jostain syystä kuitenkin oon ollut melko pahalla päällä muutaman päivän. Ehkä kukaan ei ole turvassa bridezilla-tartunnalta. Toivottavasti tää menee pian ohi.....

Kielen kanssa meillä ei ole tähän mennessä ollut mitään ongelmia, vaan kaikki on hoitunut sujuvasti ilman kummempia väärinkäsityksiä. Tottakai jotain asioita olis ehkä vielä helpompi järjestää kotimaassa, mutta ainakin nyt kaikki on lähellä. Saatiin jopa hotellin hääpakettia fiksattua vähemmän puolalaiseen makuun eli pienetämään aivan järjetöntä ruokamäärää.

Facebookin hääryhmää seuratessa on tullut sellanen olo, että jonkunasteinen vastoinkäyminen on vakio, mutta toivottavasti me päästään pälkähästä ja kaikki menee yhtä sujuvasti ku tähän mennessä. Vinkkinä muuten jos ei omaa omaa elämää, toi hääryhmä on aika viihdyttävä (ihmiset on vaan niin ihmeellisiä olentoja....). :D

First of all some superb news; this week I finally passed my driving exam and in 1,5 weeks I should be one very happy owner of a brand-new Polish driving license.

Ok, that said we can move on to wedding planning update. As some of you know we will get married NEXT WEEK - no, the wedding is not cancelled even I have been a bit lazy updating about that.... so busy with the planning you see. Anyway everything seems to be on schedule and as far as we know we did not forget about anything. :D I have had my share of bridezilla-moments (no more, pleaseeee...) and now it seems I'm suffering from the classic pre-wedding flu, but otherwise everything is more than fine. :) In the pictures you can see some sneak-peaks of our theme colors. Few small details still need some attention but I'm pretty confident we will be ready till Friday evening. ;)
